Manchester in Passing
Late last year, we completed our second assignment for the European Nuclear Society (ENS). Following the event in Warsaw, where we provided conference photography, Manchester was next.
The trip began with complications at the airport (flight transferred to Okęcie, Modlin’s usual fog issues) and a 5-hour flight delay. Eventually, we managed to land safely in (of course, rainy again) England.
Logistically and in terms of scale, this assignment was ‘level: hard.’ It entailed 10 hours a day, 800 participants, 3 locations, and 5 conference spaces where it would have been ideal to be present simultaneously. The event took place at Manchester Town Hall, the Manchester Convenience Center, and a beautiful Gothic cathedral. The venues were diverse and impressive, ranging from Gothic architecture to modern glass designs.
After working hours, the ever-smiling Marry introduced me to the secrets of tai-chi. I spent four evenings with her, filled with great conversations and good food.
