The general rule is that simplicity works best in professional portrait photography<\/strong>. Unless you are an artist<\/a>, circus performer, or performance artist, and you are not aiming to create an eccentric image \u2014 it is better to focus on rational minimalism. <\/p>\n

We therefore recommend shirts and jackets<\/a> without complicated patterns, small checks, or stripes, in neutral colors \u2014 white, grey, beige, cream, light blue, navy blue. Subdued colors convey professionalism and will not distract from your face. <\/p>\n

For women, blazers<\/a>, shirts, and elegant dresses will work well. However, evening wear might be a bit excessive. It sometimes happens that women feel comfortable in slightly bolder colors. In such cases, we advise them to bring such an outfit as one of the options and opt for a package that includes more photos \u2013 then, after the session, we still have a choice \u2013 for a CV or LinkedIn, we can upload a photo in a more subdued outfit, and save the extravagant one for special occasions, or go all out and upload it as the main photo \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

The fit of the outfit is extremely important. What good is an elegant outfit if your weight has changed in the meantime? If you have lost weight, clothes will “hang” on you; if you have gained weight (after Easter or Christmas), buttons will barely be able to contain your “rich inner self” \ud83d\ude09 <\/p>\n

Also, ensure that your clothes are clean, neatly ironed, and wrinkle-free. Even in this situation, natural folds will appear on the outfit, but too many of them will be a distracting element. <\/p>\n

Another piece of advice directly follows from the above \u2014 it is important that you feel comfortable and natural in your outfit. If you like what you are wearing, it will certainly positively affect your mood during the session. <\/p>\n

Indeed \u2014 mood. Get enough sleep and try to come in a good mood. We can retouch a few creases on a shirt, but a tired face will remain tired. <\/p>\n
